P1 Ava Ang
How I became an artist turned entrepreneur
How I became an artist turned entrepreneur
From Penang, Ava moved to Singapore 8 years ago. She was fascinated with colour pencils and crayons when young and enjoyed drawing. She was eventually offered a scholarship to pursue a Fine Arts degree. Her paintings were exhibited and bought by Mahathir's son. Upon her move to Singapore, she was offered a job as a graphic designer. Later, she had stints with Tiger Airways, Air Asia and Shell Petroleum. No dream is too big and no dreamer is too small. Now onto a internet start up business.
P2 Dilya
The Power of Thoughts
The Power of Thoughts
Our thoughts will send out frequency into the universe. You are the most powerful magnet. If we focus on what we want, we need to learn how to think positively. By thinking negative thoughts, we will attract negative events into our lives. Just like Aladdin and the magic lamp, asking the Genie for what he wants, we are Aladdins, masters of our own destiny. To attract positive events, we need to ask, believe and receive.
P2 Joyce Tan
Growing a Hobby
Growing a Hobby
Joyce is growing a herb garden and shares with us 3 benefits of gardening. Firstly, you will learn patience. She shared her experience of growing Rosemary plants. Secondly, plants are very useful. For example, they can purify the air, and be used in cooking. Thirdly, it encourages recycling. Waste can be used as compost.
P3 Eliz Wong
What can Singaporeans learn for Venice
What can Singaporeans learn for Venice
ELz visited Venice in April and opines about 3 attributes we can learn from Venetians. Firstly, the people are neighborly and friendly. Now Eliz is getting to know her neighbors and aims to know everyone staying on her level. Secondly, art is everywhere. Art is not limited to artists. Thirdly, slow things down and enjoy simplicity of the good life where everything is more relaxed.
P5 Geri Kan
The Big C
The Big C
While staying in NY, a biopsy showed a cancerous lump in her breast. A small infantry army was mobilized by her friends just for her. Her friends also threw her a pre chemo party. Her partner Ben emailed Geri's mom to give her updates. Now Geri is Chemo free for ten years. She is thankful for her friends who got her through the experience by making her feel safer, braver and stronger.
Table Topics
Raj: What was your most memorable vacation?
Raj: What was your most memorable vacation?
The last 4 days he spent with his mother in India before she passed away. He spent time talking to his mother at her bedside, which has inspired him to write a book about her.
Jo: If you get a chance to go space travel, would you go?
Yes, if it's free since it's ridiculously expensive. I can experience weightlessness. I can get up close and personal with the moon, stars and galaxy.
Cwenn: What is your ideal vacation?
It's about enjoyment and spending time with self. The ideal vacation must be relaxing, for example, enjoying nature and the sea. It also involves enjoying the company of a loved one and good food together.

Peter: If you could undo a vacation, which one would it be?
Peter experienced his first time in an aeroplane at age 28. It was an army plane Charlie one 30 which was shaking vigorously. He lost his contact lenses and didn't bring his spectacles so everything during the trip was a blur.
Daisy: Do you like to pre plan your entire vacation or just take a plane and go?
It is wise to plan ahead and to make sure your investment of money is worth it. It will also prevent any mishaps or hiccups.

A Cause and effect outline was used. The message is clear and supported by examples and stories. Suggestion: Consistency in analogy... instead of using 3 different analogies, use only one consistently.
