Our Story

Toastmasters International is a non-profit organisation and a world leader in communication and leadership development. 

 Katong Toastmasters Club is founded by a group of friends who are passionate about learning public speaking and people skills. It started at Singapore Swimming Club but we soon found a home at Katong Community Centre. 

 We believe that communication and leadership skills are best learned by doing it. 

Over time, we have grown in strength and our members have become like family to us. We are proud to be the most diverse yet closely-knitted club with members from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, The Philippines, Vietnam, India, China, and Australia. 

Speak better, begin your journey with friends. 

 We meet on every 3rd Thursday of the month at Katong Community Centre. 

Guests are always welcome at our meetings. A small fee of $10 applies, which helps to cover our refreshment. 

 Just drop us an email to katong.toastmasters@gmail.com at least one day in advance, if you wish to attend our meetings.

Happy New Year and I hope you had a refreshing and revitalising break during the recent year-end festive period. 3 TIPS ON USING ALLITERATIVE TRIADS

Alliteration refers to the repetition of the beginning sounds of words, as in "Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers", "long-lived", "short shrift" and "the fickle finger of fate". (from dictionary.com) A triad is a group of three, especially of three closely related persons or things. (from dictionary.com) Put the two together and you get   ALLITERATIVE TRIADS , that means groups of three words beginning with the same sounds.  I love alliterative triads. I like to use them in my speeches and evaluations. It helps me to remember my points easily too! Here are 3 tips on making alliterative triads work for you. (1) Use alliterative triads as heading for the points in your speech.  Let's say in your speech, you want to share three points.
