A Resounding Success

Dear Katong Toasties,

The turn out of Area Z3 International Speech and Table Topics Contests was phenomenal!

45 Toastmasters were present at our club in Katong CC to witness the contests.

Our registration officer , Merry handed 2 pages of name contacts and passed it to Joni. We are also expecting a new member , Raj , in April. He said he was amazed by Leena's introduction of the programs.

Many members were early as promised to set up and transform our usual meeting place to a very well organised new ground.

More surprises. Some email correspondence from members of other clubs, as well as NOL TMC, have tagged positive feedback that the event was a resounding success. Your efforts were very much appreciated ! Give ourselves a pat on the back ...

Congrats to Choon Liang and Justin who did not miss their shots. Both clinched 1st runner's up titles for International speech and table topics, respectively.

3 TIPS ON USING ALLITERATIVE TRIADS

Alliteration refers to the repetition of the beginning sounds of words, as in "Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers", "long-lived", "short shrift" and "the fickle finger of fate". (from dictionary.com) A triad is a group of three, especially of three closely related persons or things. (from dictionary.com) Put the two together and you get   ALLITERATIVE TRIADS , that means groups of three words beginning with the same sounds.  I love alliterative triads. I like to use them in my speeches and evaluations. It helps me to remember my points easily too! Here are 3 tips on making alliterative triads work for you. (1) Use alliterative triads as heading for the points in your speech.  Let's say in your speech, you want to share three points.
